Buyer / Procurement Specialist – Braspenning Coatings Curaçao

240x360_buyer_2_bcc.jpg Braspenning Group has been a leading specialist in metal preservation and corrosion protection since 1956. From (sea-going) vessels and bridges to storage tanks, cranes, and offshore structures—we apply our expertise to deliver durable, long-lasting solutions. With locations in Amsterdam, Den Helder, Harlingen, Sweden, France, Germany, Spain and Curaçao, and projects ranging from shipyards to industrial production halls, we are a well-known and established player in this specialised market. For our Braspenning Coatings Curaçao team, in Willemstad, Curacao, we are looking for a Buyer / Procurement Specialist who truly makes a difference. You calculate sharply, purchase smarter every time, and protect the margin. In return, we make sure your work becomes visible in projects you can genuinely be proud of.

At Braspenning Coatings Curacao, we’re not looking for an “RFQ forwarder.” We want someone who turns drawings and project data into reliable cost prices—someone who benchmarks quotations with precision and immediately spots risks, opportunities, and potential variations. Someone with experience, overview, common sense, and a bit of grit.

Your role:
As Buyer, you are the link between preparation and execution. You lay the groundwork for accurate budgets and ensure materials, labour hours, and external costs are correct before the project starts. You work closely with project management and site execution, keeping control of price, planning and scope.

What you will do:

  • Prepare cost calculations based on materials, labour hours and quantities
  • Collect and review project information, drawings and scope—down to the details
  • Check input for accuracy and completeness
  • Proactively report to the Netherlands-based management team on risks, opportunities and improvements
  • Provide project visuals (photos and short videos) to the Dutch head office for communication purposes
Requesting and processing quotations
You decide which parts of the scope are sourced from suppliers and/or subcontractors. When quotations come in, you organise them, validate them, and benchmark options together with the project team. You speak up when something doesn’t add up and ensure decisions are properly substantiated.

You will:

  • Organise and compare quotations (benchmarking)
  • Check quotations for accuracy and completeness, terms, lead time and scope
  • Consult with suppliers/subcontractors on content and price

Building budgets
You create the master budget based on selected materials, labour hours, quantities and prices, and translate it into budgets for different scenarios. From this master budget, multiple budget versions can be developed. You also support determining the tender amount based on execution costs and project parameters.

What you bring to the table:

  • You work precisely, but you understand real-life execution: you don’t calculate “pretty”—you calculate realistically
  • You can read drawings and technical information and translate them into materials and labour hours
  • You are strong in structure: your take-offs and budgets are logical, transparent and verifiable
  • You communicate clearly with project management, suppliers and subcontractors
  • You are confident with Excel and comfortable working in systems/ERP
  • You speak and write flawless Dutch and are more than proficient in English

What we offer:
At Braspenning Group, you’ll join a family business where hard work and a good atmosphere go hand in hand. We offer:

  • A key position in a down-to-earth family company with international projects and strong growth ambitions
  • A versatile full-time position where your strengths truly matter
  • Work with real impact—your calculations translate into real progress on ships, steel and industrial assets
  • An excellent pension plan
  • Travel allowance
  • Short communication lines, trust, and the freedom to shape your role smartly
  • Strong employment conditions and the tools you need (laptop/phone)
  • Colleagues who take ownership and rely on each other
  • A one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position
