For our subsidiary Braspenning Coatings Curaçao in Willemstad, we are hiring Industrial Blasters.About the role
As a Blaster, you’ll work at one of the island’s most robust and scenic locations: the shipyard, on maritime projects. You’re physically fit and work from work orders under the guidance of our foremen. Using modern blasting equipment, you prepare steel—both on vessels in dry dock and in confined spaces (tanks)—so surfaces are ready for high-quality coating. You execute your tasks to the highest safety and quality standards.Your tasks:
Preparation- Move to the work area (dry dock), set up and check tools and materials
- Assess safe access to the surfaces to be treated
- Cordon off the work area and ensure a safe working environment
- Abrasive blasting of steel surfaces on ships and installations
- Inspect and assess substrate condition before and during work
- Set up and operate blasting equipment correctly
- Continuously monitor blasting quality with constant attention to HSE (safety, environment, quality)
- Leave the work area clean and orderly; clean tools and equipment
- Use PPE as prescribed
- Follow company, safety, environmental rules and work instructions
- Keep workstations tidy and compliant
Your skill set
- Good physical condition (standing, outdoor work)
- Experience with blasting or strong willingness to learn
- Basic knowledge of materials and blasting techniques
- VCA Basic Safety (or willingness to obtain)
- Accuracy, responsibility, team spirit; proactive, hands-on, and able to work independently
