For our subsidiary Braspenning Coatings Curaçao, we are looking for Industrial Coaters/ Spray Painters.
About the role:
As an Industrial Coater/ Spray Painter, you ensure that metal structures are both professionally protected and finished to a high standard. Whether it’s a ship, a steel structure, or a ship’s tank, you apply the correct coating system with precision and care. You work under the supervision of our foremen, using modern spray equipment and materials, and you are highly skilled in assessing coating thicknesses and finish quality. You are physically fit and carry out your work based on job instructions and paint specifications — both outdoors on vessels in dry dock and indoors in confined spaces, such as tanks.
What you will be doing:
Prep:
Assess whether the surfaces to be treated can be safely accessed and whether the work can be carried out in an environmentally responsible manner.
Secure and demarcate the work area, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Executing cleaning, blasting, and preservation activities
- Spray painting steel structures, vessels, and industrial installations
- Inspecting the condition of surfaces to be treated, measuring coating thickness, and assessing the quality of the spray work
- Setting up and operating spray equipment to achieve optimal coverage and specified film thickness
- Maintaining continuous focus on safety, environmental responsibility, and quality
- Tidying and clearing the worksite
- Cleaning tools and equipment
- Disposing of tools, materials, and waste in a correct and responsible manner
- Using personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed
- Complying with all company, safety, and environmental regulations and work instructions
- Keeping the workplace clean and orderly at all times
- Experience as an industrial painter / spray painter (or strong motivation to learn the trade)
- Knowledge of paint types, coating systems, and application techniques
- VCA Basic Safety certification (or willingness to obtain it)
