Operations Manager bij Braspenning UHP & Coatings – Rotterdam (Verolme)

At Braspenning UHP & Coatings, we deliver high-impact projects across the maritime and industrial sectors—UHP hydrojetting, blasting & coating, rope access and scaffolding. For our Rotterdam–Verolme location, we’re hiring an Operations Manager who drives projects with absolute focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.

You’re the kind of leader who keeps the overview, runs a tight operation, and spots bottlenecks before they become problems—then fixes them fast. You’ll plan, coordinate and steer multiple projects at once, leading supervisors and subcontractors and acting as the right hand of the on-site General Manager.

Your role:
As the right hand man to the general manager, you are the key link between client, shipyard, planning and execution. You will:

  • Translate client and contract requirements into clear work packages, scope and milestones
  • Define project objectives and provide full visibility to the General Manager on what’s needed to deliver
  • Build and control manpower, equipment and material planning across multiple concurrent projects
  • Lead supervisors/foremen and (sub)contractors, keeping the operation agile and productive
  • Control progress, quality, scope changes and costs, including variations (extra/reduced work) and order administration
  • Lead toolbox talks and project meetings with a strong results-and-safety mindset
  • Investigate (near-)incidents and ensure HSE/VCA compliance in line with the Dutch Working Conditions Act (Arbowet) and local regulations
  • Report proactively to the General Manager on risks, opportunities and continuous improvement
What you bring to the table:
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills—you stay in control and switch gears quickly
  • Experience with budget control, costing, order administration, claims/deliveries and contractual commitments
  • A solid HSE mindset and familiarity with VCA, Arbowet and safety/environmental requirements—and you make sure the team lives it
  • Clear, decisive communication and a visible, hands-on presence on site (no “paper tiger”
  • Flexibility regarding irregular working hours; you stay calm under peak pressure
  • Fluently written and spoken Dutch and near native English
What we offer, besides fantastic colleagues:
  • A high-impact leadership role with real ownership in an entrepreneurial family business with international reach
  • Impressive projects in the beating heart of maritime Netherlands: Rotterdam–Verolme
  • A competitive salary, excellent benefits, plus a phone and laptop
  • A great pension scheme
  • Bi-weekly padel games in Amsterdam
  • A loyal, down-to-earth team that delivers quality and results
  • Freedom to organize your work smartly, with room to grow
